Borussia Dortmund youngster Jordan Sancho is one of the most sought-after prospects in world football currently.

Since his move to Germany from Manchester City in 2017, the English winger has gone from strength to strength. He has scored 17 goals and provided 27 assists in 60 appearances for Dortmund and has also gone on to become a full England international. He opened his account for the Three Lions with a brace in the 5-3 win over Kosovo in the recently concluded international break.

Hence, it’s not at all surprising that some of the biggest European clubs are in his pursuit. Premier League Manchester United are one such side, and they reportedly wanted to sign the 19-year-old during the summer. However, their advances were turned down by Dortmund, who were adamant on keeping the youngster for at least one more season.

Now, these reports have been confirmed by Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke in the new Amazon Prime documentary Inside Borussia Dortmund. Watzke has confirmed that United officials even met with Sancho’s agent, but they were told very clearly that youngster won’t be leaving Dortmund at any price this summer.

“A hot topic right now is Sancho and Manchester United,” Zorc said in the documentary. “Both his discussions with the club and mine with the agent, a meeting did take place. Manchester United invited the agent.

“According to what I know, the agent told the club that no matter how much money they offer, we won’t let him go this summer.

“The player also has no intention of taking that step this summer [2019].”

Sancho, who originally joined Dortmund in a £7m move, signed a contract extension last season which ties him to the club until 2022.

Paul Pogba remains on Real Madrid’s agenda

The transfer window is finally over all over Europe, but that hasn’t stopped Paul Pogba from being linked with an exit from Manchester United.

The French midfielder was a subject of interest from clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus throughout the summer, but he ended up staying with United. However, the latest report emanating from Spain claims that Real boss Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of his compatriot and Los Blancos would again attempt to sign him in January.

The report also claims that Real are prepared to offer Tony Kroos in return to United. The Red Devils retain a long-term interest in the German midfielder, and they even made an unsuccessful bid for him during the summer.

The source of the report is Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, who was previously the head of famous Spanish publication Marca. He told El Chiringuito TV: “Zidane has an obsession, which is still Pogba.

“The French coach is a person of fixed ideas and insists on Paul. They will try in January and there have already been the first contacts with United.

“In the conversations that still exist between emissaries from Madrid and United, a name has been put: Toni Kroos.

“United tried to sign Toni Kroos this summer. For him they offered this summer 75 million and that caused its renewal with the white team.”

It’s not a surprise that the Spanish giants are already thinking of reinforcements as they have made an underwhelming start to the new season. Los Blancos have collected just five points from their first three games and they already trail leaders and local rivals Atletico Madrid by four points.
