Last season, we witnessed a scintillating finish to the Golden Boot race in Premier League as three forwards shared the honour.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Sadio Mane (Liverpool), and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) each scored 22 goals in PL to jointly win the much-coveted accolade.

The new season is almost here, and all the top strikers will once again compete for the prestigious award. In this feature, we look at the top contenders in the betting market.

Harry Kane (Tottenham)

The England international is the clear favourite with most bookies to win yet another Golden Boot trophy. The 26-year-old missed out on the award last season due to multiple injuries which made him miss ten games.

Despite playing only 28 games last season, the England international was not far behind with 18 strikes. He has also won this honour previously in 2015-16 and 2016-17. Almost all bookmakers are backing him to win his third Premier League Golden Boot at 4/1 odds.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has won the Boot on the last two occasions. In 2017-18, he scored a whopping 32 goals to finish ahead of Kane and win the award. Last season, he could only manage 22 goals, but this was enough to earn him his second consecutive accolade.

The Reds are expected to challenge for the title once again, and Salah would be leading the charge. We expect him to light up the scoring charts once again, and he is available at odds ranging from 5/1 to 11/2.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Sergio Aguero is always among the top scorers Premier League, but surprisingly, he has never managed to win the Golden Boot in England. Last season, he missed out on the trophy by a single goal as he finished the season with 21 strikes 33 appearances.

Undoubtedly, the Argentinean is going to be among the goals again, but can he win his first Premier League Golden Boot trophy in 2019-20? The betting market is backing him at 6/1 odds.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

The Arsenal star was only given an outside chance last season, but he earned some punters a lot of money by winning the Golden Boot. Once again, he is not among the top contenders, and that’s what makes him a good pick. Aubameyang would also benefit from the arrival of Nicolas Pepe, so expect him to score a lot of goals this season.

The 30-year-old is available at odds ranging from 7/1 to 8/1, making him an attractive option for bettors.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Mane enjoyed a stellar season with Liverpool in 2018-19. Many would say that he upstaged Mohamed Salah from the limelight with his performances. The Senegalese produced the most fruitful season of his professional career as he scored 22 league goals in 36 games. This was in sharp contrast to his tally of ten goals in 2017-18. Can he continue in the same vein in 2019-20, or is it possible for him to get even better? If you think so, he is available at 12/1 odds in the market.
